Vishwanath & Sons: Venky Atluri Film Lacks Hype

Director Venky Atluri is all set to enthrall audiences with Vishwanath & Sons, starring Suriya as the lead. The film has been made in Tamil and will be released in Tamil and Telugu. With only a few days left for release, the film is still suffering from weak promotions.

Pattern of Low Pre-Release Buzz

Somehow Atluri is failing to create big hype around his films. The same was the case with Lucky Baskhar. Truly, the film deserved much bigger collections than it collected, but the low pre-release hype impacted its box office performance to an extent.

Now, Venky Atluri’s Vishwanath & Sons is facing a similar situation. Despite Suriya being in strong form and Atluri delivering good content after Rang De, the film is still not carrying massive buzz.

Strong Business, Weak Buzz

The team also seems to be not promoting the film as aggressively as expected. Interestingly, Vishwanath & Sons set a ₹45 Cr Tamil Nadu pre-release record, showing strong distributor confidence. Yet, this hasn’t translated into audience hype.

Movies with huge pre-release hype and average talk often deliver bigger numbers than films with low hype despite receiving unanimous positive WOM. Content is undoubtedly the key, but creating strong pre-release hype and awareness is equally crucial for a film’s box office performance.
