The movie is said to be a part of Lokesh’s cinematic universe and will have a link to Kaithi and Vikram, it is known that Sanjay Dutt has been roped in for the villain role. Vijay is said to be playing a Mumbai gangster role in this movie. Samantha and Trisha are also appearing in important roles.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is on a high note with his recent blockbuster Vikram, which starred Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahad Fasil. Currently, Vijay is shooting for #Thalapathy66 with the director Vamsi Padipelly, and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is touted to be an emotional entertainer, Varisu’s screenplay is jointly penned by Vamshi Paidipally, Hari, and Ahishor Solomon. Varisu is slated to release for Sankranthi – 2023.
