Vijay Deverakonda responds about his recent failures at the box office

Vijay Deverakonda talked about the disappointing performance of his Bollywood debut, ‘Liger’, recently. The pan-India action thriller, which also features Ananya Panday as the female lead, initially created a lot of excitement among fans. It did not meet expectations at the box office, and the collection went downhill after the first weekend. Vijay spoke about ‘Liger’ during the trailer launch event of his upcoming film ‘Kushi’.

Speaking at the launch of the trailer of his next multilingual movie ‘Kushi’ in Hyderabad, Vijay Deverakonda discussed about his recent failures and especially, the commercial failure of ‘Liger’. He expressed his disappointment, saying, “When a film doesn’t perform or work, it does hurt. I have experienced many flops in the past, and Liger is not the first one.”

Vijay emphasized that his conviction and judgment in choosing scripts remain intact despite the setback. Reflecting on his career, he shared, “I have also had many hits before. I will continue to experience both flops and hits because, ultimately, we are trying to tell stories. My ambition is always to pursue something creative, and my lifestyle is to wholeheartedly commit to it.”

Vijay acknowledged the emotional impact of a film’s failure, saying, “It hurts when the results are not as expected, but it doesn’t discourage me. I am not afraid of failure. Even though it hurts when a film doesn’t work, it doesn’t stop me from trying again. I am not afraid of stumbling.”
