Vetrimaaran’s Vidudhala opens with good numbers

Vetrimaaran, the critically acclaimed and award-winning director has made films like Visaranai, Asuran, Kaaka Muttai, etc. is regarded as one of the efficient filmmakers in the South Indian Cinema. His latest offering is Viduthalai (Part 1) in Tamil, which was released on 31st March and became a super hit. The film was appreciated by the audience and critics as well.

Two weeks later, the movie has been dubbed as Vidudhala Part 1 in Telugu and was released yesterday. The film portrays a comedian Soori as the protagonist and Vijay Sethupathi in the second lead role.

Vidudhala opened with good numbers in Telugu states and the film has collected more than 1 Crore gross on the opening day. The film has been released by Allu Aravind in a very good number of screens, and it has received good word of mouth from the audience, which is reflecting in the Collections.

With Vijay Sethupathi and Soori in the lead roles, Viduthalai, the crime-action thriller, was released on March 31st and garnered plenty of positive reviews. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film is a realistic police Vs naxal drama which also highlights the social and political issues in the police department. While the film became a massive success, director Vetrimaaran presented the entire ‘Viduthalai’ team with a gold coin as a token of appreciation.

The second part of Viduthalai is scheduled to be released in September. Apart from Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, the film stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, and Bhavani in important roles. The music for the movie is composed by Ilaiyaraaja
