Veteran Tamil filmmaker, actor, and screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj passed away after reportedly suffering a massive heart attack. He was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. His demise has sent shockwaves across the Indian film industry, with several celebrities mourning the loss of one of Tamil cinema’s most influential storytellers.
Among the first to react was Megastar Chiranjeevi, who shared an emotional note on social media. Expressing his disbelief, Chiranjeevi revealed that he had met Bhagyaraj just two days earlier at Kush’s wedding in Goa. Recalling how they laughed, shared jokes, and posed for photographs together, the veteran actor said it was heartbreaking to wake up to the news of Bhagyaraj’s sudden demise.
Paying tribute to his longtime friend, Chiranjeevi described Bhagyaraj as a brilliant filmmaker, exceptional screenplay writer, and fine actor whose contributions to Indian cinema would always be remembered. He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Bhagyaraj’s wife Poornima, son Shanthanu, and the entire family, praying that they find the strength to cope with the irreparable loss.
