Vamshi Paidipally, Dil Raju, and Vijay came together for this year’s Pongal entertainer Varisu. The film was a grand success in Tamil Nadu but failed to recreate similar magic in Telugu states and certain rest of India territories. However, it was one of the biggest grosser of Vijay’s career owing to TN and overseas collections.
Now, as per reports, Vamshi Paidipally again wants to do a film with Vijay and he has already narrated a line to Vijay. While further details on this development are awaited, the director is now busy with full script work. Dil Raju will be producing this movie in what would be the return of this combo.
Vijay’s Varisu was released on January 11th amidst great expectations from fans. Everyone especially Vijay’s fans had high hopes for this movie considering the sub-par performance of his previous film Beast. While Vijay’s Varisu was released to mixed reviews, it ran to packed houses through the festive season and held well on the next few weekdays as well.
With Varisu, Vijay once again hit the Rs 200 crore mark and fell just short of the Rs 300 crore club. Thalapathy now holds the record number of 200Cr grossers in South India. Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, Master, and Beast all his recent films crossed the 200Cr mark.
