Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli’s Varanasi is probably the biggest film in Indian cinema in the coming years. Obviously, there is already a huge craze among audiences and across languages. The trade is also abuzz about the film, and distributors are ready with record-breaking offers for Varanasi.
As said above, Varanasi is the biggest-budget film from Indian cinema, targeting a global audience across multiple languages. The movie is currently on set, with around 50% of the shooting reportedly completed. The team recently announced 7th April, 2027, as the release date. They anticipate completing the entire shoot by approximately September.
Distributors have already started offering record prices to acquire the film’s rights. A distributor from East Godavari has reportedly offered ₹18 crore. Until now, Baahubali 2, with a share close to ₹18 crore, holds the all-time record. Interestingly, distributors are offering even higher amounts, but the makers of Varanasi have not opened the business yet, stating that they will finalize prices only after the shooting is completed.
