Buchi Babu Sana’s Uppena is continuing its winning streak on TV as well. The film was telecasted on Star Maa on April 18 achieved a TRP rating of 18.5. This is the highest rating for a debut hero movie.
Uppena starring debutants Vaishnav Tej and Kirthi Shetty was a blockbuster success on its release in theatres earlier this year. The film starring Vijay Sethupathi in a negative role received good applause from critics along with great collections.
Mythri Movie Makers bankrolled this project and Devi Sri Prasad scored its music which was also a smashing success. Both Vaishav Tej and Kirthi Shetty along with director Buchi Babu Sana shot to fame after the success of Uppenna. The actors are flooded with offers and are taking their time to finalize new projects. While Vaishnav will be next seen in an untitled Krish movie, Kirthy will be next seen in Nani starrer Shyam Singha Roy.
Meanwhile another successful film of the year Master made its Television Premiere this month but failed to attract the audience. Master achieved a TRP of just 4.8 in its Telugu TV premiere.
