Upasana Kamineni Konidela has been appointed Director – Projects at Apollo Hospitals, as the healthcare group prepares for an expansion worth approximately ₹8,600 crore across India. She will work with Apollo’s leadership, clinical teams and project partners to oversee the planning and execution of new hospitals, expansions and upgrades to existing facilities. The programme includes around ₹1,565 crore in planned brownfield expansion projects.
Focus On Better Patient Experience
Upasana’s role will focus on making hospitals easier to navigate and more comfortable for patients and their families. Her priorities include clearer signage, efficient clinical spaces and consistent design standards across Apollo’s network. The expansion covers cities including Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Varanasi, among others. Apollo will confirm the specific projects falling under her mandate.
Carrying Forward Her Grandfather’s Vision
Speaking about her new responsibility, Upasana Kamineni said she aims to carry forward the vision of her grandfather, Apollo founder Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, who believed world-class healthcare should be within reach of Indians. She emphasised that thoughtful hospital design should support patients, families and medical teams alike. Through its expansion, Apollo aims to improve access to advanced healthcare while creating opportunities for medical professionals across the country.
