Unpredictable April Box Office: Surprising Blockbusters and Shocking Flops take Tollywood by Storm

No Clean Hit Films for Big Stars in Telugu Post-COVID

The Box Office results in the April month have shocked everyone because of the surprising outcomes of the movies. It is very well known that in this month two big budget films hav released which are Samantha’s Shaakuntalam and Akhil’s Agent. Both movies budget is more than 80 Crores and theatrically both movies have ended up as disasters with single digit closing collections which came as a big shock for Tollywood.

Raviteja’s Ravanusara was released with a decent buzz as he was on a streak with Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya, but the film miserably failed at the box office. Young hero Kiran Abbavaram’s Meter was a washout with registering deficits on the day 1 itself. Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 2 was released in the last weekend and though the film has received positive response and getting good collections, we can say it is underperforming if we consider it being a sequel.

Choreographer and Hero Lawrence’s Rudrudu opened with decent numbers on day 1 but ended up as a failure. Lawrence’s mass pulse helped the film to register good openings but the terrible content and talk dented the film’s numbers from the next day.

Sai Dharam Tej’s Virupaksha came up with a low buzz before the release but with the help of positive talk became a massive blockbuster and the film is having a terrific run at the box office. The film is a surprise blockbuster as no one expected this much revenue for the film. Overall the April Box Office has been unpredictable and given surprising blockbusters and shocking flops.
