Actress Samantha attended Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra‘s Telugu pre-release event today. Tollywood Director Trivikram Srinivas was also invited and while speaking at the event he made some interesting comments. He praised Samantha and also termed her as equally popular like Rajinikanth. These comments have now gone viral on social media platforms. However, Trivikram’s comparison of Samantha with Rajinikanth has no logic and sense.
The Director said that Samantha was too popular in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages just like how Rajinikanth is. This is where the Director lost sense. Samantha didn’t even act in a Malayalam or Kannada film till now. So, how would she gain Rajinikanth like popularity there? She didn’t make a debut in Hindi theatrically as well. She only starred in a web series, Family Man Season 2. So, how would one become popular like Rajinikanth without even making a debut in other languages? But Rajinikanth is an Actor who had great hits in these languages theatrically.
The Director might be quoting the popularity of Samantha for her appearance in Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava song from Pushpa. But alongwith her even Rashmika Mandanna became popular with Srivalli and Saami Saami songs from the same Pushpa nationwide. So, will she be equally popular like Rajinikanth besides Samantha? May be for Trivikram but not for us as Audience.
