Vijay’s Varisu is all set to release for Sankranti on January 11th. As per the original plan, both Varisu and its Telugu version Varasudu were scheduled for the same-day release. However, due to some technical issues on the dubbing front, the Telugu version will now hit the screens on January 14th.
While this is one issue that Vijay’s Varisu is facing even before its release, there’s another problem that has become a worrying factor for the makers of Varisu. The advance bookings for Varisu are not on par with expectations.
Vijay is the leading Tamil star in Kerala, Karnataka, and overseas. All his recent movies have opened with very big numbers irrespective of the talk. The makers of this film are banking on Vijay to pull the crowd to theatres and register remarkable opening figures. However, this plan seems not to be working as effectively as expected.
Surprisingly, Varisu advance bookings are not encouraging at all and are moving quite slowly making it one of the poorest bookings for Vijay in recent times. The buzz was good before the trailer but after the trailer, the movie’s hype has been impacted. However, good word of mouth on day 1 can surely pull the audience to theatres considering it’s a festive season and Varisu has family entertainer feels.
