Top 10 Overseas Opening Day Records in Indian Cinema

In Malayalam cinema, Drishyam 3 is expected to aim for record-breaking collections. In Kannada, only another film from the Kantara franchise seems capable of surpassing the current record. It will be interesting to see which films enter the list of the biggest grossers by language in Indian cinema in the coming years.

The Independence Weekend of 2025 will witness the biggest clash at the box office. Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2 and Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie are the two biggies that can enter the list of Top 10 Overseas Opening Day Records in Indian Cinema.

  • Baahubali 2: 11 Million USD
  • Leo – 8 Million USD
  • Pushpa 2 / RRR – 7.8 Million USD
  • Kalki 2898 AD – 7.4 Million USD
  • Kabali – 6.5 Million USD
  • Salaar – 6 Million USD
  • GOAT – 5.61 Million USD
  • Devara – 5.2 Million USD
  • Ponniyin Selvan 1 – 5.05 Million USD
  • Tiger 3 and Empuraan—5 Million USD

As said above, War 2 and Coolie, the two biggies, are set to be released on 14th August. Both films are capable of entering the Top-10 Overseas Opening Day Records in Indian Cinema. 

War 2 aims to break Salman Khan and YRF’s Tiger 3 opening to achieve the biggest start for a Bollywood film, while Rajinikanth’s Coolie aims to cross Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh’s Leo opening and to achieve Kollywood’s biggest opening.
