It looks like Tollywood sees Pushpa 2 as a Money Spinner, and not a Pride. For Tollywood Baahubali started taking the legacy to the pan Indian range. That is why Baahubali and Baahubali 2 were seen as a pride and when Baahubali 2 released and scored 1000 Cr, entire industry celebrated it like their win.
Later, the other pan Indian films also scored success at the pan India level, though not at to the extent of Baahubali 2. Films like RRR and Kalki 2898 AD were also appreciated by industry people. However, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 is not getting the same response from the Telugu film industry. The producers of the film are continuously saying that it is Telugu’s pride like Baahubali series, but it looks like Tollywood sees Pushpa 2 as a Money Spinner, and not a Pride.
This aspect is also true, as Baahubali 2 was not only about money, Rajamouli and Prabhas delivered something never seen by audiences and takes the Telugu cinema into an global level. whereas Pushpa 2 is a mass commercial film, and it is a very regular for Telugu industry. However, Pushpa 2 team might hurt with their own industry’s behavior as Tollywood is not celebrating Pushpa 2’s record numbers like how they did for Baahubali 2. Till now, no big star / industry person has not reacted to the success of Pushpa 2: The Rule and we can expect someone to react in the near future.
