A recent controversy between Kannada people and Kamal has created troubles for the film. In a promotional event, the legendary actor stated that the Kannada language originated from Tamil, which sparked reactions.
Thug Life faces a ban in Karnataka as Kamal refuses to apologize
While the Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce stated that they will ban Thug Life and will not lift it until and unless Kamal apologizes for his inappropriate remark, the actor refused to say so.
Thug Life ticket bookings opened in India/Overseas: Except Karnataka
The film is getting released this Thursday in theatres, and the overseas advance bookings opened a few days back, and today all India advance bookings opened for the film. Even in Telugu, the movie’s advance bookings have opened.
But Karnataka is still waiting, as Thug Life Tickets/Bookings did not start there. As said above, the ongoing issue because of Kamal’s statement has affected the film. We need to see how this issue will resolve.
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) clearly said that without an apology from Kamal, the film will not be screened in their state.
