Thudarum breaks records on first weekday

Mohanlal's Thudarum's 1st day worldwide box office collections are off to a fantastic start. The film has collected 5.2 Cr gross in Kerala on day 1 and close to 1 Cr gross in the rest of India. The thriller gathered around 1.25M USD from overseas, which takes the total worldwide opening day gross to 16.5 Cr. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the family thriller became the 5th all-time biggest opener of Mollywood. The film is trending above day 1 on day 2, with a good jump in all areas. The trade expects the second day's collection to go beyond 20 Cr, and it is expected to have a huge run at the box office.

The recent Mohanlal starrer, Thudarum is on a record spree. The film, which was released amid not-so-big hype, rocked the box office on the opening day. Thudarum raked in nearly 5.1 crores on the opening day, followed by 7 crores on Day 2 and 8.2 crores on Day 3, taking the total collections to 20.3 crores gross in the first weekend in Kerala.

And on the 1st weekday day i.e., Day 4, Thudarum broke all the records with an unbelievable hold, collecting nearly 7 crores gross. This is literally bigger than the opening day and also on par with the Saturday number. This is surely a fantastic achievement, and the advance bookings are equally promising for tomorrow as well.

If the film runs at this pace, it surely has all the chances to gross 100 crores just from Kerala. Mohanlal who recently scored a big blockbuster with his L2: Empuraan, looks like not stopping. This is indeed a great feat by an Actor to score blockbuster successes in just a short span of time.
