The Telugu Film Industry has been going through a bit of a slump in the last few months. The producers fail to understand why their films are dying at the box office. Multiple meetings, discussions, and talks have also been held regarding the same, and yet, there is no solution.
A prime example of this is the disastrous performance of Telugu movies in the month of July. The Warrior, Thank You and recently Ramarao On Duty have all posted forgettable numbers at the collections office.
The Telugu Film Producers Council as well as the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild have been conducting meetings. Various topics such as remunerations, OTT release, and ticket rates have been discussed but somehow, there is no significant change.
In view of these issues, it has been decided that there will be no shooting of Telugu films from August 1st until a solution is reached. There will be thorough discussions held in the meantime among all the major members of the Telugu Film Industry to tackle the theatrical business problem.
Owing to this decision to stop the shooting of movies, over 30+ films are being stopped. Chiranjeevi’s Godfather, Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura, Ram Charan’s RC15, and Prabhas’ Project K to just name a few. The Guild has assured the makers that the shooting can be commenced in one to two weeks at the least.
