Earlier, fans and trade had doubts whether The Raja Saab could achieve a million-dollar opening in the USA, as advance booking trends were quite low last week. But the film has picked up strong momentum over the last two day during the release week.
The USA advance sales of The Raja Saab have now crossed $750,000 and are expected to reach between $900,000 and $1 million in pre-sales before the shows begin. Depending on word of mouth, the USA premiere collections are likely to be around $1.25 million.
The Raja Saab shows a good jump in overseas advance sales, but is it enough?
As of now, total overseas advance sales stand at $1.35 million, with $900,000 coming from the USA (including Day 1) and $450,000 from other overseas markets. Overall, the film is expected to open with around $3 million overseas if it receives positive word of mouth.
However, this is considered only an average opening compared to the film’s overseas business value, which is around $10 million. To achieve strong numbers, the film will need excellent word of mouth and a massive weekend performance.
