Nani addressed the media in Chennai today ahead of The Paradise’s release, confirming that the film’s censor formalities are complete, though the team is yet to receive the official certificate. The film is most likely to receive an A certificate.
On the A Certificate
Speaking about the film not being suitable for kids, Nani said the team cannot make every film work for all sections of the audience. “This one is clearly intended for an adult audience,” he said, adding that The Paradise is the most hard-working and highly anticipated film of his career. “It is going to be a crazy, crazy ride in theatres, a strong emotional film with high theatrical moments,” he said.
Nani’s Take on the “Pan-India” Tag
Nani also weighed in on a point he feels strongly about — the pan-India label itself. “When a Hindi film does well in South Indian languages, it is still called a Hindi film. But when a Telugu or other South Indian language film succeeds in Hindi, why does it suddenly have to be called a pan-India film? That is my concern. This is why I don’t want to call my film The Paradise a pan-India film,” he said.
Tamil Nadu Release and Director’s Note
The Paradise will release in Tamil Nadu through Think Studios, with the film hitting screens in both Telugu and Tamil. Director Srikanth Odela described it as a mother-centric, emotionally charged revolutionary film that will connect strongly with Tamil audiences.
