Yash and Prashanth Neel’s blockbuster KGF franchise (KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2) is all set to be released in Japan this July by Twin Movies, which also distributed SS Rajamouli’s globally acclaimed “RRR” last year and scored a massive blockbuster. KGF 1 and KGF 2 both films will be released in Japan on 14th July 2023. Now this news has started a debate in the netizens regarding the collections.
There is no need for the special mention of the box office wonders created by RRR in Japan. The film was released without any expectations, but it came a big blockbuster and, with the help of Japan collection’s only the film had crossed KGF 2’s worldwide collections. Now we need to see how the KGF series will perform at the Japan box office.
The Japanese version poster and trailer of KGF series with Japanese language and subtitles have been released, confirming the 14th July release. It is a proud milestone for the Indian Cinema that our films can now crack the new overseas market. If the release of the KGF series in Japan becomes successful, then it can lead to more films following the same trend in the near future. Who knows, we might see our films being released simultaneously in Japan and India.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF Chapter 2 was released in April last year and went on to become the highest-grossing Indian movie of the year and 3rd highest of all time with a worldwide gross collection of over 1200 crores. KGF 2, which was released in 2018, grossed around 237 crores worldwide and was the highest-grossing Kannada film at that time.
The franchise tells the story of the “KGF,” the “Koral Gold Fields,” and the protagonist, Rocky, played by Yash. Produced by Hombale Films, the second part also stars Sanjay Dutt as Rocky Bhai’s nemesis alongside Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj and others in crucial roles.
