The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri walks out of an interview

Vivek Agnihotri, the director who has made it a habit to be involved in controversies, returned with a web series, The Kashmir Files Unreported. The premiere took place on Zee5 OTT platform. Meanwhile, the filmmaker stopped an interview midway through and walked out because he was questioned about the BJP’s promotion of his hit film, The Kashmir Files. The interviewer can be heard saying that Vivek also gave her an ultimatum in the viral video.

The video starts with the interviewer saying that there are numerous opinions that The Kashmir Files is made anti-Muslim agenda. To this, Vivek responds, “First of all, I am not answerable to that.” In addition, she mentioned that the BJP has been discussing Kashmiris since the 90s; it’s not an untold story.

Vivek adds, “I am not the spokesperson of the BJP; I have nothing to do with them.” Furthermore, he asserted that the government did not promote his film, and he also denied that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promoting his film.

The video shows Vivek’s team member attempting to stop the interview shortly after. The filmmaker can be heard telling the interviewer, “I have understood where you are going and where you are coming from. I am pretty experienced.”

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Vivek recently announced the release of his next film, The Vaccine War: A True Story, starring actors like Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Raima Sen, Sapthami Gowda, Girija Oak, and Pallavi Joshi. On September 28, 2023, the film is set to be released on the big screen in 11 different languages.
