The Greatest Of All Time: All time record losses in Kerala

the goat

Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time Kerala rights were sold for 17 Cr and everyone expected the film to do well considering Kerala is a strong zone for Vijay. In order to achieve breakeven, the film had to collect 45 Cr gross. However, the film has shocked everyone with its dismal performance. It has collected only around Rs 13 Cr gross and share is around 5.5 Cr.

Including P&P, the distributor suffered a loss of 12 Cr, an all-time record loss ever in Kerala for any other language film. Normally Kerala is Vijay’s super strong fort, but the audience has completely rejected the film this time around.

The GOAT vs Leo collections

Incidentally, The GOAT closing collections are equal to Leo’s opening-day collections. This figure itself tells the story of how disastrous the GOAT Kerala box office performance was. Leo had done an extraordinary business in Kerala collecting Rs 60 crores. Compared to this, The GOAT Kerala collections are totally not up to the mark.

The same is the case with Telugu states. The film has suffered around 17 Cr loss in Telugu states for the business of 22 Cr.

The Greatest of All Time has done terrific business in Tamil Nadu and Overseas, pushing the film into all-time Kollywood top 5 grossers. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the total overseas collection of The GOAT is around $17.6M and it’s all set to cross the Rs 150 Cr milestone by tomorrow. The film has also entered Rs 400 crores club and has become the 14th South Indian film to do so. In Kollywood, 2.0, Vikram, Jailer, Leo, and Ponniyin Selvan
