The GOAT starring Vijay had a very good performance at the box office for two weekends. The film however didn’t perform as expected in Telugu States and Kerala but outperformed everywhere else. Tamil Nadu stood as the best performing territory for the film. The GOAT has also entered the 200 crore club in Tamil Nadu to a major surprise.
It took a great opening in Tamil Nadu and continued the same momentum later till now. The third weekend also looks promising. The film by grossing 200 crores became the third film to pull off the record after Ponniyin Selvan 1 and Leo. Trade also expects The GOAT to become the biggest grosser of Vijay in Tamil Nadu. The film needs to put more big numbers to beat Ponniyin Selvan 1 atleast for one more week.
The total worldwide gross of the film is more than 430 crores. The film has also become the 5th highest grossing Tamil film beating Vikram. The film looks unable to touch the 500 crore mark. It may end up near 450 crores if the momentum continues till the weekend. Vijay will be doing only one film after this which has already been announced as Thalapathy69. After this film, he will venture into full time politics.
