Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Parasakthi is facing unexpected trouble ahead of its release due to a legal dispute over its story. A few days ago, it was reported that the film was sent for a re-censor, and now this court case stands as another obstacle to its release.
A petition seeking to stop the release of Parasakthi, which stars Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Atharvaa and is directed by Sudha Kongara, was heard by the Hon’ble Justice S. M. Subramaniam.
After hearing detailed arguments from Senior Advocate Aravind Pandian, representing the producer, and R. Singaravelan, representing the director, both appearing on behalf of Vijayan Subramanian, the court refused to grant an injunction against the film’s release.
The court directed both parties to file their counter-affidavits. It also asked the Writers’ Association to submit a report on the complaint filed by the petitioner. The case has been posted for further hearing on January 2, 2026.
The legal petition was filed in the Chennai High Court by Rajendran, an assistant director. He alleged that Parasakthi was made by copying his original story and sought a ban on the Tamil film.
