Thaman has become synonymous with Nandamuri Balakrishna films in recent years. From Akhanda to Daaku Maharaj, the Thaman Balakrishna films combo has delivered chartbusters consistently. Now, with Balakrishna’s next project with Koratala Siva officially announced, the big question is: will Thaman continue the streak?
Thaman’s Consistent Run with Balakrishna
Thaman has been consistently composing music for Balakrishna’s recent films, including Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari, Daaku Maharaj, Akhanda 2, and the ongoing film with Gopichand Malineni. This partnership has become one of Tollywood’s most successful actor-composer combos, with Thaman understanding the pulse of Balakrishna’s mass appeal perfectly.
Koratala Siva’s Music Director Choices
Interestingly, Koratala Siva has never worked with Thaman so far, despite the composer’s regular association with Balakrishna films. The director collaborated with Devi Sri Prasad for his first four films (Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, and Bharat Ane Nenu), Mani Sharma for Acharya, and Anirudh Ravichander for Devara.
This creates an interesting creative choice for the Balakrishna-Koratala Siva project, which is lined up as NBK112 in Balakrishna's upcoming lineup.
Who Will Compose Music for NBK112?
At present, going back to Mani Sharma seems unlikely given Koratala’s recent preferences. Meanwhile, Anirudh might not be a feasible option due to his high remuneration and packed schedule. This leaves the makers with two strong choices: DSP or Thaman.
If Koratala opts for Thaman, it would mark the director’s first collaboration with the composer while continuing Balakrishna’s winning streak with him. On the other hand, bringing back DSP could recreate the magic of Koratala’s earlier mass entertainers.
It remains to be seen whether Koratala sticks with one of these proven composers or surprises everyone by choosing a completely new music director for this prestigious project.
