Thalapathy68, The GOAT: Based on D.B Cooper escape?

The GOAT (Thalapathy 68) directed by Venkat Prabhu has created massive hype and unending fans’ speculation ever since the project was announced. Venkat Prabhu is known for his unique concepts and has toyed with concepts such as time travel (Maanadu), supernatural elements (Massu Engira Masilamani/ Suriya’s Rakshasudu) in some of his earlier films.

So naturally, there were huge speculations about what concepts Venkat Prabhu choose for his collaboration with Vijay. And if we go by the latest reports, Thalapathy 68 is based on the famous mysterious disappearance mid-air of US hijacker D.B. Cooper.

The D.B. Cooper disappearance mid-air is one of the legendary aviation stories across the world. The GOAT will reportedly be an adaptation of the story of DB Cooper who hijacked a flight to Seattle in 1971 for ransom money. Once he received the ransom money, he jumped out of the aircraft mid-air into the night sky and was never found and went traceless. It’s been 50 + years and remains one of the biggest unresolved cases of FBI and stuff of legends.

These rumours of The GOAT being a D.B. Cooper story adaptation have taken the fan’s excitement and the buzz to another level. It will be exciting to see Vijay playing this character. The first look poster was released earlier today and features Vijay in a young and old look.

The music for Thalapathy 68 will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film features a huge star cast including Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer and Yogi Babu
