The ongoing trend of pan-India movies has resulted in several unique combinations which we couldn’t have imagined a few years ago. Today, Telugu star heroes are collaborating with Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi directors in a bid to expand their markets. While this strategy has worked out in some cases, sometimes it has not.
Ram worked with star director Lingusamy for The Warrior while Sundeep Kishan worked under Ranjit Jeyakodi’s direction for Michael. Both these films failed to attract the audience.
Now, even Telugu star heroes are working with directors from other industries much to fan’s excitement. Prabhas is currently working with Prashanth Neel for Salaar and Om Raut for Aadipurush and will soon collaborate with Siddharth Anand for an action thriller.
NTR will be collaborating with Prashanth Neel and Vetrimaran soon. Similarly, Ram Charan is working with Shankar for RC 15 and is in talks with Kannada director Narathan for a movie. Even Allu Arjun is planning to do so after the completion of Pushpa 2. Pawan Kalyan will be working with Samuthirakani on the Vinodaya Seetham remake.
The concept of Telugu star heroes working with other language directors is not new. Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, Balakrishna, and Nagarjuna have all worked with other language directors. However, this pan-India release has now given a new angle to this practice as it will help the pan-India movies to do well in the director’s language as well as the hero’s language if everything works out.
