Nikhil‘s biggest-budget film Swayambhu is going through a rough patch regarding its release schedule. After announcing multiple dates and not being able to meet them, the ambitious period film has yet to finalize its theatrical debut.
Multiple Postponements Mark Release Journey
The Swayambhu team had earlier announced a February release but postponed it to summer due to pending post-production work, primarily VFX. While the team confirmed a summer release window, the exact date remained unannounced for weeks.
The makers initially considered April 30 as a potential release date, particularly after Peddi got postponed. However, the timelines didn’t align as the post-production could not be completed in time.
End of May Release Being Locked
As of now, the team is said to be locking a release towards the end of May, with an official announcement expected soon. The film represents the biggest-budget project in Nikhil‘s career and is targeting pan-India markets.
The recurring delays stem from the film’s extensive VFX requirements, which need additional time to meet quality standards. Swayambhu‘s scale marks a significant step for Nikhil, and the team appears focused on ensuring the technical work is completed properly rather than rushing to meet earlier timelines.
The pan-India ambitions and period setting have generated substantial expectations for the film, making the official release date announcement crucial for building pre-release buzz.
