Suriya is in talks for Karna role in Mahabharat

Suriya is among the most famous actors in Tamil cinema, whose work has got him the fair amount of recognition across all the industries. We know his stardom and fame in Telugu, but his Singham franchise is also popular in Hindi, while for the film, Soorarai Pottru Suriya has won a national award for his acting. He is presently shooting for the Siruthai Siva directorial Kanguva, which will see a Pan India release in Summer 2024.

And now, the latest reports strongly suggest that Suriya is all set to make his Hindi debut as the actor is in advanced talks with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to play the role of Karna in the latter’s dream project, Mahabharat.

Reportedly, Suriya and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra have been discussing for Karna for some time now and everything is falling in the right place. It is also said that Suriya is eager to be a part of the two-part epic of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. This is a historical ensemble from the Mahabharata era with Suriya playing one of the most complex characters of his career, the great lending man, Karna.

The film is expected to go on floors in 2024. Before Karna, Suriya is expected to complete shooting for Kanguva along his next with Sudha Kongara, the director of well acclaimed Soorarai Pottru.

Karna will be a big pan-India release in multiple languages and the team is looking to get actors from all industries in the Indian Cinema. An idea of Rakeysh’s vision to round up the film is already in place, and it is a matter of implementing the same thing is due now.
