Suriya & Karthi In Malayalam Remake Film

Suriya has more fan following in Telugu after Super Star Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan. Even though his earlier films were dubbed in Telugu, he has gained stardom with “Ghazni”. Later he established himself with movies like Surya s/o Krishnan, Veedokkade, Singam series, and 24. He also acted in RGV’s Raktha Charitra2. His younger brother Karthi was introduced in Telugu with Yuganiki Okkadu but seen the commercial success with “Awara”. Karthi made his Telugu debut Oopiri, a multi-starer featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna. Fans wanted to see both the brothers together on the silver screen but it has not happened till now.

Tamil producer Kathiresaan bagged the remake rights of recent Malayalam Blockbuster “Ayyappanum Koshiyum”. It is out and out action-thriller starring Prithviraj and Biju Menon. In Tamil remake, Dhanush and Vijay Sethupathi names were heard initially but the latest reports say that Suriya and Karthi will be seen in the lead roles. According to the sources, Karthi to act as ex-Havildar, a role originally played by Prithviraj and Surya to be seen as a sub-inspector which was a Biju Menon’s character in “Ayyappanum Koshiyum”. In an interview, Karthi said that he is ready to share his screen with his brother Suriya if they come across the right script.

Sitara Entertainments owned the Telugu remake rights of “Ayyappanum Koshiyum”. Many stories rounded on social media saying Rana Daggupati and Nandamuri Balakrishna showed interest to act in the Telugu version, which is to be directed by B.Gopal. But there is no official word yet.
