Small films are streaming on OTT within 2 weeks of theatrical release

TFI producers conducted plenty of meetings on OTT releases. They have stated that no film can release before 6 weeks or 7 weeks from the theatrical release date, but it looks like no one is following the rule in the industry.

Recently, Sudheer Babu’s hunt movie was dropped on January 26th and within 2 weeks of the theatrical release the film is streaming on OTT. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi’s Butta Bomma was released on last week, and now they are planning for early OTT streaming. Most probably, the film will be available for OTT streaming on the next weekend.

Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce had a meeting in the recent past regarding the ongoing issues in Telugu Film Industry such as film ticket prices, OTT releases and other issues and hurdles in Tollywood.

The major discussion that took place during the meeting was about the hiked ticket prices, OTT window and some strict implementations about the same. They informed that all the small-budget films can have an OTT release with a gap of four weeks. All medium and big-budget films should have their digital release only after 10 weeks from their theatrical release.

However, in Telugu Film Industry, the rules are only for namesake and everyone will act as per their will and wish. This thing is obvious for the industry people and the audience as well. But still, the producers and directors make statements according to the situation and give false affirmations.
