Legendary director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao (94), who left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with his extraordinary experiments, passed away on Saturday night. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai after suffering from health issues.

Film Industry Mourns the Loss

Prominent figures from the Telugu and Tamil film industries have expressed deep shock upon hearing the news. NTR, Devi Sri Prasad, and numerous celebrities shared heartfelt condolence messages on social media, paying tribute to the legendary filmmaker.

A Six-Decade Cinematic Legacy

Singeetham Srinivasa Rao was a true creative visionary who transformed Indian cinema. He began his journey as an associate to legendary director K.V. Reddy on classics like Mayabazar. He later transitioned into directing and entertained audiences for six decades, helming over 60 films across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. His recent work was Sing Geetham.

From the silent film Pushpaka Vimana to the time-travel sci-fi Aditya 369, his films stood as milestones in Indian cinema. Bhairava Dweepam, Mayuri, Ksheera Sagara Madhanam, Apoorva Sahodarulu, and Michael Madana Kama Rajan showcase his directorial brilliance.

Honored with National Film Awards, Nandi Awards, and Filmfare Awards, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao remained passionate about cinema even after ninety. His passing is being mourned as an irreparable loss to Indian cinema.
