Shiva Nirvana On The Missing Police Track
Shiva Nirvana explained that leaving out the police was a deliberate storytelling decision. He said the film already establishes that the characters are aware of the police, pointing to the sequence where Sai Kumar’s character refuses to file a complaint over eve-teasing because he fears the matter becoming public. According to the director, introducing police characters and an investigation would have shifted the audience’s attention away from the central characters and toward a police-procedural track. He also revealed that the MLA is behind the deaths, while deliberately leaving open whether the police were compromised or whether the killings were passed off as suicides.
What’s Next For Shiva Nirvana?
Shiva Nirvana made a promising directorial debut with Ninnu Kori and followed it with the successful Majili. He subsequently faced a rougher phase with Tuck Jagadish and Kushi, before making a strong comeback with Irumudi. Following the film’s success, Nirvana has said it has given him greater freedom to experiment and surprise audiences with his future films.
