Sharwanand-Sreenu Vaitla Film: Anil Sunkara Replaces Mythri

Sharwanand signed a film with Sreenu Vaitla that was initially announced under Mythri Movie Makers for a Sankranti 2027 release. Today, the film’s pooja ceremony was held in Jubilee Hills and the project was officially launched, but with a significant production change.

Mythri Movie Makers Exits, Anil Sunkara Steps In

The production house has changed hands. Mythri Movie Makers, which had originally committed to bankroll the Sreenu Vaitla project, has stepped away from the film. In their place, Anil Sunkara and his banner AK Entertainments have taken over production responsibilities.

The project itself has an interesting backstory. It was initially planned as a Nithiin starrer under Sreenu Vaitla’s direction but was later shifted to Sharwanand following Nithiin’s career setback with Thammudu.

Proven Track Record: Sharwanand and Anil Sunkara Reunite

This marks the second collaboration between Sharwanand and producer Anil Sunkara. Their previous venture, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, released during Sankranti 2026 and emerged as a big success at the box office. That film’s strong performance has clearly laid the groundwork for this reunion.

The proven chemistry between actor and producer likely played a role in Anil Sunkara stepping in to take over the project after Mythri Movie Makers’ exit. According to reports, the film will feature a unique blend of comedy and science fiction with a time travel concept, combining Sreenu Vaitla’s signature humor with contemporary storytelling elements.

Critical Comeback Opportunity for Sreenu Vaitla

For director Sreenu Vaitla, this film carries career-defining stakes. After a prolonged rough patch with multiple commercial disappointments, industry observers view this as potentially his best and perhaps last opportunity to make a strong comeback as a director.

The combination of Sharwanand’s current market standing, a reliable producer in Anil Sunkara, the innovative sci-fi comedy concept, and the lucrative Sankranti 2027 release window gives Vaitla the platform he needs to reclaim his position in Telugu cinema. The film is expected to go on floors in July 2026, with the team banking on the chemistry between the actor-director-producer trio to deliver a box office winner.
