Director Shankar planned making a sequel to yesteryear blockbuster, Indian/Bharateeyudu. The film went to sets and everyone was prepared for a sequel i.e,. Indian 2. But Shankar had thought otherwise and came up with another sequel in the form of Indian 3 making it a series. This foolish decision of Shankar has now killed Indian 3 theatrically. It is rumoured Indian 3 would be arriving on OTT directly.
Indian 2 which released this year became one of the biggest disasters in both Telugu and Tamil versions. Many had trolled Shankar for filming many unnecessary and lagging scenes. This attitude of Shankar to drag the film to another sequel has backfired. No one was impressed with what was shown in Indian 2. It felt like the entire story and content was concentrated only in Indian 3 which was also indicative in the trailer that was released at the climax of Indian 2.
Shankar even backed the plan of making one more film in the form of Indian 3. He said that this decision was not taken to cash in on the craze for sequels these days. But everyone understood this gimmick played by Shankar for Indian 2 after watching the film. It could have been very good if both films were made as one film. But Shankar’s foolish decision has killed what he had thought of doing for the sequel of Indian. Now, he must bounce back with Game Changer starring Ram Charan.
