“Shame On You Karan Johar” Says Kangana Ranaut

Karan Johar’s directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released in theatres on 28th July. The film has opened to mostly positive reviews and has made a commendable dent at the box office on the opening day. With the collections looking promising on Saturday and Sunday, Karan Johar and team will be more than happy.

No surprises for guessing, but if there is one person who doesn’t seem too pleased with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, it is Kangana Ranaut. Off late it looks like the actress has been making more noise with her statements than with her movies and this time is no different.

She took to Instagram, where she shared her opinion in the form of a Story. To summarize what she said, Kangana Ranaut took a dig at Karan Johar for making a movie like Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani when Indians are watching movies about nuclear weapons and atomic science.

Clearly, Kangana seems to be referring to Oppenheimer here. But she also seems to be forgetting that Indians are also watching Barbie, a movie about a life-sized doll. So, simply put, both can exist.

Kangana Ranaut also went on to say, “It is the same Saas Bahu Ka Rona, Why does he need 250 Crores to make it? Shame on you Karan Johar, stop wasting funds, it is not an easy time for the industry.” And in a not-so-sweet closure, she said, “Retire now, and let young filmmakers make revolutionary films.”

Make of this what you will, but at the end of the day, Kangana Ranaut has the right to voice her opinion and Karan Johar also has the right to keep making the films he wants to make. And if the film is good, the result should speak for itself.
