Scene Advance Bookings: Suriya Heads for His Biggest Opening

Suriya's Scene needs to collect 200 Cr gross worldwide to achieve break even.

Suriya’s Scene is heading for a massive opening at the box office, with advance bookings indicating strong interest across domestic and overseas markets. The film has reportedly crossed ₹19 crore in worldwide opening-day pre-sales, with the figure expected to move beyond ₹20 crore before its theatrical release. India is contributing approximately ₹12 crore, while overseas markets have accounted for over ₹7 crore. These numbers have raised expectations that the film could deliver Suriya’s biggest-ever opening, surpassing his previous record.

Promising Numbers Everywhere

Tamil Nadu is leading the domestic advance-booking charts with approximately ₹6.28 crore, followed by Kerala at ₹3.04 crore. The film has also recorded encouraging numbers in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Kerala has emerged as a particularly strong market, thanks to director Jithu Madhavan’s popularity following Romancham and Aavesham. The presence of Malayalam actors Naslen and Nazriya Nazim has further strengthened the film’s appeal. Meanwhile, affordable ticket prices have helped drive substantial footfalls across several centres.

Career Biggest Opening on Cards

Suriya’s biggest opening so far belongs to Kanguva, and Scene is now expected to challenge that record. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film also features Naslen and Nazriya Nazim in important roles. Its opening-day performance will depend heavily on audience feedback from the initial shows. With the Diwali holiday period providing an opportunity for sustained footfalls, positive word of mouth could push the collections considerably higher. Scene is scheduled to release worldwide on November 6.
