Sony LIV has officially confirmed that Scam 2010 will stream on the platform in January 2027. The announcement came through the streamer’s X handle, with the line “SCAM is back!” and a promise that this season goes beyond money matters.
What the series is about
Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga follows the rise and fall of Subrata Roy, the founder of the Sahara group. The show is based on the book Sahara: The Untold Story by Tamal Bandyopadhyay. The makers describe it as a dust-to-diamonds story, and it will be the third season in the franchise.
Hansal Mehta is back behind the camera
Hansal Mehta returns as director and showrunner after creating the franchise with Scam 1992, which starred Pratik Gandhi as Harshad Mehta. Scam 2003 followed with Gagan Dev Riar in the lead as Telgi. The series is produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, and it will stream exclusively on Sony LIV.
Who is playing Subrata Roy
Reports have named Siddhant Bodke for the lead role. The official announcement has not confirmed the cast, so the casting should be treated as reported until the streamer makes it official.
What to expect next
Filming reportedly began at the end of May, and the streamer has pointed to a January release. The franchise has been one of Sony LIV’s most-watched series, so this season is likely to draw strong interest from viewers who followed the earlier two.
