Samantha’s latest movie Yashoda released this week and got good talk, it’s weekend box office performance was excellent across Telugu and Tamil languages. Critics also appreciated the movie’s technical elements. However, the movie is a bit struggling at the box office during weekdays.
It has seen some dip in the collections on weekdays. The superb momentum that was seen on the weekend got slowed down on weekdays. As November is a lean season for box office, the drop is understandable.
In Telugu states the film was sold for 9 crores and until now it collected around 6 crores share and yet to get 3 crores to meet the breakeven. For this to happen, the second weekend must be strong. There needs a spike in the weekend collections.
The movie is an action thriller directed by Hari-Harish. Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sharath Kumar, Murali Sharma etc. have acted in important roles in the movie.
The movie revolves around an underground racket of surrogate mothers, and how Samantha as Yashoda adventurously come out of those challenges makes everyone glued to the screen. The first half received unanimous appreciation, while many felt that the second half could have been better.
We hope the second weekend ends the sluggish run of Yashoda and speeds up the box office returns. If the film becomes successful, that will lead to more films made with female centric movies.
