Retro Team Celebrates Despite Audience Rejection

After a below-par first weekend, the film completely crashed on weekdays. Tourist Family, a small film that was released along with Retro, takes a clear lead over Suriya's film after the weekend. Karthik Subbaraj's directorial work worked only for a minimum section of audiences, while for most sections of people it did not connect. The film received a negative response both in Tamil and Telugu. However, as said above, Suriya's Retro team celebrates success despite the rejection of audiences. Surprisingly, the director of the film, Karthik Subbaraj, said he is happy with the positive response from the audiences in an interview.

Suriya’s Retro movie was released on 1st May, and with today, i.e., meaning for the 1st week, the film has collected around 85 Cr gross worldwide. The film failed to live up to pre-release expectations. However, the Retro team celebrates success despite the rejection of audiences.

Suriya’s Retro Makers Release Exaggerated Collections and Celebrate Despite Audiences Rejection

Also, the team released a 104Cr box office poster, which is an exaggerated number, and it is a very low number for the movie’s economics, and the film may not reach the quoted number in its full run.

One more thing is that the team conducted a Thanksgiving meet. Doing these for an average film is fine but projecting a failure film as a success will certainly affect the makers themselves, and it indicates that they do not understand the reality and are living in dreams.
