Ram Charan’s blockbuster, Rangasthalam which was released in 2018, obtains good collections at the Japanese box office. What’s more surprising is the film performs better than the most hyped KGF Series in Japan and posts excellent numbers at the box office.
The recent success of global blockbuster RRR has shown that the Japanese market is one more addition to the Indian films. The action epic made by the SS Rajamouli was released in Japan in October 2022, and the film’s release got a great answer. RRR broke the box office records of Indian films such as Muthu and Baahubali 2 in Japan during its theatrical run. The movie was capable of producing more than 100 crores RS.
Along with Rangasthalam, Prashanth Neel and Yash’s KGF part 1, part 2 are also releasing in Japan on this Friday. Surprisingly, Rangasthalam movie’s advance bookings and collections both are higher than KGF 1 and KGF 2.
Here are the details of collections of the three movies in their 1st weekend at the Japan box office.
- Rangasthalam – ¥10,131,550 / $72.7K (₹60L)
- KGF Chapter 1 – ¥5,860,210 / $42K (₹34.5L)
- KGF Chapter 2 – ¥5,200,800 / $37.3K (₹30.6L)
Rangasthalam, directed by Sukumar, was released in Japan on July 14, 2023. The entertainment business Space Box, which has already released Indian films like Ponniyin Selvan 1&2, Kantara, Waltair Veerayya, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and many other movies in Japan, has released Rangasthalam as well.
