Story
Manthena Surya Narayana (Allari Naresh) is a careless young man who dreams of becoming a hero without putting in any effort. He hopes to unlock a magical book belonging to his family that summons the Apsaras: Ramba (Rashi Singh), Oorvasi (Prisha Singh), and Menaka (Vishnu Priya) to grant his wishes.
When Surya accidentally unlocks the book and the three goddesses appear before him, he stumbles while asking them to grant his wishes. What mistake did Surya make? How it changed his and the Apsaras’ destiny, and what’s the role of Lord Indra in his life forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Allari Naresh does his usual job and makes some hilarious moments work. There’s nothing extraordinary in his character or acting, but he delivers what’s expected. Surbhi is okay in her brief role, while senior actor Naresh is underutilized.
Srinivas Reddy, Vennela Kishore, Raashi Singh, Vishnu Priya Bhimeneni, Prisha Singh, and Tarak Ponnappa are adequate in their respective roles.
Analysis
Directed by Chandra Mohan Chintada, Ramba Oorvasi Menaka has an interesting concept that could have made it a proper fantasy comedy. The premise of three celestial Apsaras granting wishes to a lazy dreamer has potential.
The humor in several areas feels outdated. Nothing extraordinary happens, yet the first half is decent, featuring a few fun scenes that stand out. The episode with the three Apsaras’ arrival and the twist involving Lord Indra sparks interest for what’s next.
Sadly, the second half falls flat with most proceedings becoming uninteresting. The narrative fails to handle the three Apsaras’ characters properly, with scenes coming and going without impact. While you don’t look for logic in these fantasy comedies, the comedy doesn’t work even at a basic level in the second half, except for one or two scenes like the “Washi Oh Washi” spoof.
The emotional depth (mother sentiment and Lord Indra’s realization) and entertainment fall apart, leaving the final segment dull and unnecessarily stretched near the climax. Similar to recent comedies like Korean Kanakaraju, this film works better in parts than as a complete package.

However, the second half turns sluggish and predictable, with the climax also falling flat. If you’re looking for a fantasy comedy that delivers throughout, Raakaasa might be a better choice.
Overall, Ramba Oorvasi Menaka offers scattered laughs but lacks the consistency to be a memorable comedy.
