Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior is all set to release tomorrow. Directed by Lingusamy, Ram will be seen as a cop for the first time in this action entertainer. After a series of unsuccessful films in June and early July, fans are hoping that this film will bring the much-awaited fire to the box office.
However, it appears that their wish won’t be fulfilled. The advance bookings for The Warrior have been disastrous, to say the least. Out of the total 497 shows in Hyderabad, only 17% occupancy has been registered with a gross collection of just Rs 77 lakhs.
AMB Cinemas, which usually registers great occupancy for new releases saw just 77% occupancy with Prasads has so far registered mere 20% occupancy. Incessant rains in Hyderabad, low buzz among audience along with high ticket prices are being stated as the main reasons for the lack of occupancy.
Kirthi Shetty, who made an impressive debut with Uppena last year is paired opposite Ram in this film. The Warrior is being made on a grand scale and lavish budget and Srinivasa Chitturi is producing this film. The film is being shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.
