Tollywood Director, Ram Gopal Varma has recently embroiled in an ugly controversy over his social media posts. The Director was alleged of morphing the images of Politician, Chandrababu Naidu and his family and likewise many cases were booked against him. The Police have initiated action into this which made RGV go into a hiding mode. He later made an appearance out of nowhere and gave interviews hesistating to apologise for his acts.
The Director while speaking in the interviews said that he believes social media posts need to be allowed also terming them as fundamental expressions. Curtailing them would not serve the basic idea of freedom of expression, he also added taking objection to the governments reacting sharply to these. Ram Gopal Varma also confirmed that he wouldn’t apologise for whatever he says on his social media platforms and expressed that he would find better to remain in jail rather than not posting them.
These comments from Ram Gopal Varma were shocking and show that he isn’t backing off. He also opined that he has immense respect on the judiciary and sytem and waits for it to make the talk. He has also filed a petition in the High Court to grant him bail on these cases. The Court has listed them to Monday for hearing and we should wait for the judgement.
