Ram Charan Apologizes to Jasprit Bumrah After Viral Gaffe

Global Star Ram Charan apologizes to star cricketer Jasprit Bumrah!

Mega Power Star Ram Charan found himself at the center of a viral moment during the music launch of his upcoming film Peddi in Bhopal. The actor accidentally referred to star Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah as a football player, sparking widespread reactions across social media. Realizing his mistake, Ram Charan quickly issued a public apology on X (formerly Twitter).

What Happened at the Peddi Event

During an interactive session with fans at the event, Ram Charan was asked to describe some of India’s popular cricketers in a few words. The actor praised legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar by calling his career a “legendary journey,” described former Indian captain MS Dhoni as “cool and calm,” and referred to current skipper Rohit Sharma as “everyone’s favourite.” Star batsman Virat Kohli was called “fire.”

However, when it came to Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler and 2024 T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament, Charan said, “Jasprit Bumrah ji… I am your biggest fan. I love football and aap football ko itne aage badha rahe ho (You are taking football to a whole different level).”

The slip-up left the audience surprised, and the video quickly went viral. Netizens started sharing memes and jokes, with many recalling how Jr NTR had once mentioned that Charan often forgets names.

Ram Charan’s Heartfelt Apology

Realizing his mistake, Ram Charan took to X late at night and posted a heartfelt apology to the Indian pace legend.

“Uff…I’m genuinely forgetful with names sometimes. Apologies to Jasprit Bumrah ji for the mix-up. It was a genuine human error in the middle of all the excitement and the massive crowd. I truly respect and am a huge fan of his game,” the actor wrote.

The candid admission and quick apology won appreciation from fans, who found the incident both funny and endearing. The mix-up has since become one of the most talked-about moments from the Peddi promotional tour, according to regional media reports.
