Rajamouli’s RRR crosses 10 Cr mark at Japan box office

Rajamouli’s historical fiction RRR started it’s box office rampage in Japan as well. The film has already crossed 10 crore mark at Japanese box office. RRR has become a sensation in the West especially in USA already.

The movie got immense response through Netflix and this also led to a number of shows curated for Americans in the form of encoRRRe. The movie stood as no.1 non english movie in Netflix for record number of days. After seeing the dream reception in the West, the movie team turned to east.

Rajamouli has always been keen on capturing Japanese market. Tollywood movies like Bahubali2 in the past have got decent reception in Japan.

Taking such advantage forward Rajamouli did aggressive promotions along with JR NTR and Ramcharan. Both attended various shows and interviews, JR NTR has taken another leap and spoke in Japan to woo the natives. All the efforts of the team and the content of the movie seem to have got the much needed validation at the box office.

The film has already collected 1.25 millions and marching to become top 2 highest grosser among Indian films surpassing Bahubali 2. Currently it is the top 3 highest grosser ever. Achieving such huge numbers in short span shows the potential to do much more than Bahubali 2.

This fantastic response from east and west alike shows the stamina of Rajamouli in entertaining wide variety of audiences. His next movie with Mahesh Babu is said to be a globe trotting action thriller but RRR out of nowhere has already trotted the globe.
