SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is undeniably one of the biggest blockbusters in the recent past. It made people from various parts of India rush into the cinema halls once again post the COVID-19 pandemic.
While RRR is no doubt a successful film, especially regionally, it failed to reach the expectations in the other languages when compared to Bahubali 2 and KGF 2. The reason for this is simply because the above-mentioned movies are a Part 2 project and naturally have more hype.
But the problem arises when Rajamouli tried to defend RRR over Bahubali 2. In a recent interview, Rajamouli stated that RRR is getting more appreciation internationally than Bahubali. While this is definitely a great thing in this era of OTT where content is universal, it is arguable as to how right his statement is.
It comes across as if Rajamouli is putting down his own Bahubali franchise for RRR. If OTT existed at the time of Bahubali, one can only imagine the accolades the series would have received globally.
