The fear of many Prabhas fans has come true. The Young Rebel Star’s much-awaited pan-India biggie Radhe Shyam is now postponed. A formal communication has been sent to the US theatre chains and an official announcement will be made on the same today.
UV Creations had earlier stated that the film will hit the screens only on January 14th and there will be no change to hit. However, changing scenarios in the country and continuous shutting down of theatres across states have made it impossible to go for a pan-India release.
A number of states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Bihar among many others have imposed occupancy restrictions or are in plans of doing so. Mumbai, which is the largest market for Hindi films has already extended section 144 till January 15th. In such a case the makers of Radhe Shyam are left with only two options. Either postpone the release like RRR or go for the tempting OTT offers in hand. Releasing the film on the decided 14th January would have been nothing but suicidal for the entire unit.
SS Rajamouli’s RRR was also canceled for similar reasons. As per reports, the makers of this Radhe Shyam are receiving massive offers from OTT giants.
