Pushpa2- Makers expect a 200Cr business from Telugu states but buyers are not ready to take risks

Pushpa 2: A Guaranteed highest grosser of the Year.

Pushpa 2 is the most anticipated sequel currently in production and is slated for release on Independence Day weekend. The makers are quoting record prices everywhere for this movie’s theatrical businesses. For Telugu states makers are expecting a Rs 200Cr business. So far, only RRR has managed to do a Rs 200Cr business in Telugu states.

Before its release, Salaar makers had also started with 200Cr quotations but ended up with 160Cr. Even in that 160Cr, not all the amount was NRA and at release time further negotiations also happened. In Nizam Salaar is achieving breakeven but in Andhra Pradesh, there is no possibility for breakeven.

And now, Pushpa 2 makers are also quoting 200Cr for theatrical rights. Pushpa 1 was not a monumental success in Telugu states. It was the other states and primarily the Hindi version that got mammoth collections to the film. Part 1 was not a big hit in Telugu states and it was just like a normal biggie and ended up less than 110Cr share.

Because of these reasons, the buyers may not take this much risk by putting larger amounts. For Andhra [6 Territories] makers are quoting at 100Cr. If we look at the business trends, then other than the Sankranthi season recovering 60Cr is also very tough. We are seeing that in the case of Salaar.

Even Pushpa 1 did not put any big numbers here. Now we need to see what will be the final business of the film. In Nizam, even the makers quoting at 70 -75 Cr and while that may work out, Andhra Pradesh buyers will not risk these numbers considering the current GO
