The Telugu movies have started a new trend of going for hiked rates for big/known movies post COVID. This strategy was applied by many big films with a little change in the rates. But Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 opened the door for massive pricing, and the looting is being continued with other biggies now.
Before the release of the most awaited Pushpa 2: The Rule, ticket hikes were common in the film industry, with the producers going for hikes of 100 Rs and 150 Rs. But the producers of the film came up with flat ticket prices.
Pushpa 2 starts the Flat Ticket Rate for premieres
Both Telugu state governments gave permission for premium ticket pricing for Pushpa 2. The premiers of the movie were screened for 1100 and 1200 ticket prices in Telangana, while the Andhra Pradesh theaters had close to 1000 ticket prices.
From then on, all the movies have started taking a flat rate for a special show. Recently, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mall had huge ticket rates for the special premieres before the release day.
OG Andhra Pradesh: 1000 Rs Flat Ticket Rate for 1 AM Show receives negative response
Now, OG Andhra Pradesh has given a flat 1000 Rs ticket price for the 1 AM show, and the same is expected in Telangana as well.
These prices may give happiness to fans who want their heroes to set huge records at the box office. But for the normal audiences who want to see the big movies on the first day, the first show is unable to afford the ticket prices.
Audiences not happy with huge/flat ticket rates for Movies
They are not at all happy with such premium ticket pricing and ask the government why it is providing whatever price the Telugu Film Industry asks.
At first it was Pushpa 2, which was followed by Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and now OG also goes on the same path of flat ticket rates for premiers. We need to see where this trend goes, and we cannot be surprised if the ticket rates go to even near 2000 Rs in coming years.
